Prudence celebrated 5 months on November 2, and to celebrate we all went out for Indian food. Well, it didn’t hurt that we had a showing, but I digress.
Last week Prudence started making “popping” sounds, or maybe it’s mimicking us chewing. Either way, we find it hellacute. She’s also getting really good at sitting up on her own. But, as Mama learned the hard way, she hasn’t quite mastered it. Last Saturday Prudence took her first header into the floor. It sounds worse than it was -and it sounded worse than it was at the time, too. We were sitting on the floor playing. Prudence had been sitting between Mama’s legs and when Mama moved a little bit, at first Prudence was just fine. Then (instead of falling to one side or the other, as expected) she leaned all the way forward and bopped her head on the floor. Mama scooped her up and we had a good cuddle and she was all better.
We think P is really close to being ready to try her first foods. She is definitely interested in what we keep doing at the dinner table and loves to sit with us, but she won’t be getting any turkey at her first Thanksgiving in a few days.
I can say with some certainty that while Mama and Daddy have many, many things to be thankful for, we are most thankful for our beautiful, healthy baby girl.
Happy Thanksgiving!
